John J. “Jack” Scott, 68 of 1005 E. Chestnut St. died at 11 p.m. Saturday at his home. He was born Feb 22, 1893, at Elwood, a son of Mr. and Mrs. John Scott. He was married to Merle Roy July 16,l 1951. They were married at Covington. Mr. Scott was a retired laborer and was a veteran of WWI. He had lived here the past 45 years. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Martha Otenburg of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Audrey Feger of Phoenix, Ariz; two sons, Raymond of Elwood and Leonard of Decatur, Ill; two sisters, Mrs. Della Cotton of Alamo and Mrs. Susie Hutts of Alamo; a brother, Frank of Darlington; nine grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at McCloud’s Mortuary with Rev. Gordon J. Smith in charge. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the Mortuary after 2 p.m. Monday. - kz
